This position is responsible for providing signal processing support in the development and assessment of algorithms for hearing aid applications. This work will connect with the research topic of the students’ dissertation.
 
Performance of Duties
Work as a member of algorithm design team to design signal processing schemes that can be implemented with current hearing aid technology.

  • Write high-level simulations for proof of concept and exploration of algorithm behavior.
  • Communicate knowledgeably about algorithm.
  • Design and implement effective methods for evaluation of algorithms.
  • Explore computational efficiencies for algorithms.
  • Migrate algorithms to assembly code implementations that can be evaluated in real time.
  • Verify the performance of the real time algorithm
  • Provide proper documentation of work.
  • Produce scientific publications that result from research.

  • Job Requirements

  •   Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  •   Proficiency in real-time DSP programming highly desirable.
  •   Proficiency in C, C++, and Matlab required.
  •   Good verbal and written communication skills required.
  •   Familiarity with speech analysis, microphone array processing and audio classification algorithms highly desirable.
  •   Research experience in hearing aids or cochlear implants highly desirable.
  •
