The Business Analyst will work as part of agile development team writing and translating requirements into functional specifications, and work closely with other team members to help them create design specifications and test plans. The Business Analyst is specifically responsible for working with the Product Managers in implementing the product roadmap as it relates to specific needs for both internal stakeholders and external customers. The ideal candidate will have appropriate product and technical experience so that he or she can identify and plan the key features for ALM6 GUI and engine. As required the Business Analyst will also provide prototypes, work on special deliverables and provides hands-on support to the client services and professional services group.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Creates Functional Specifications including Use Cases, Process/Workflow, Data Mapping, Error Messages, Interface Specifications and test cases.
• May manage small projects independently through all aspects of the product lifecycle, including business and product requirements, process workflow, functional specifications, technical design, use cases, test cases, and training materials.
• Advises Development by bridging the knowledge gap between pure software development disciplines and client-specific technologies and practices.
• Assists QA in understanding the new feature/function. Performs User Acceptance testing and prioritizes fixes. Participates in final QA testing and deployment.
• Liaises with business and technology delivery teams to ensure the details of project deliverables are successfully understood and implemented.
• Collaborates with developers to understand feasibility and constraints of potential alternative solutions.
• Manages functional production issues for features introduced on the site. This includes problem identification, documentation and monitoring through resolution using bug-tracking tools. Provides resolution for issue escalation with Operations and with Customer Facing teams.
• Provides clear communication to Customer Facing teams on status of features, issues and resolutions.
• Provides prototypes and/or sample applications on a case by case basis.
• Provides hands-on support to the sales and client services group.

Position Requirements

• B.A./B.S. required, Masters degree/MBA/CFA candidate a plus.
• Experience working with structured finance systems and undersand how market data flows through that product
• Strong risk management and asset liability experience detailed in resume.
• Fluency in MS Excel. VBA/Macro writing preferred
• Minimum 2 - 3 years of financial industry experience.
• Experience writing product requirements and functional specifications and communicating project details with project team (business owners, IA/Design, Technology).
• Strong product analysis and project management skills.
• Must have background in internet/software product management with solid understanding of product lifecycle from inception through delivery and post-delivery support.
• Knowledge of product management concepts and techniques and a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong technical aptitude. Demonstrate the ability to understand the business consequences of technical decisions.
• Excellent understanding of prepayment, fixed income, valuation and term structure modeling.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating system and of client-server architecture.
